It was another busy week for Evesham Fire-Rescue, with our teams responding to over 150 Fire and EMS calls. Our crews tackled two vehicle fires and numerous motor vehicle accidents, including one at the intersection of Marlton Parkway and Evans Road. We also assisted the Evesham Police Department with a bomb threat and provided support to neighboring towns in three structure fires.
In addition to our emergency responses, our fire prevention team and instructors hosted 13 fire cadets for a five-day Youth Fire Academy program. The cadets received training in fire behavior, the use of fire extinguishers, donning and doffing turnout gear, search and rescue techniques, hose line advancement, CPR/AED usage, and first aid/stop the bleed training. The week culminated in a graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements of these dedicated young cadets.
We also celebrated the career of Firefighter/Inspector Joe Groody, who worked his last shift on Saturday, June 29th. Joe is retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to the residents and visitors of Evesham Township. Congratulations, Joe, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
