Station 223/227

Kings Grant Station

Station 223/227, also known as the Kings Grant Station, was inaugurated on April 28, 1992, and is strategically located at 150 Merchants Way in the Kings Grant area of Evesham Township.

This station is well-equipped to handle various emergencies. The fleet includes a Pierce Arrow XT Engines (2231), a Pierce Impel 107 ft. Quint (2235), a Ford Brush Truck (2237), and a Chevrolet 2500 Pickup (2239). For medical emergencies, it houses two Ford/Horton Basic Life Support Ambulances (2271, 2272). Additionally, the station is prepared for water rescue, wilderness, and special operations with a 15 ft. Rescue Boat (Marine 22), and a Polaris Ranger utility vehicle with a pump and patient transport area (UTV22) ensuring a versatile response capability to a wide range of incidents.

In 1968, the Evesham Township Fire District No.1 was created.  In 1972, Township Ordinance recognized that the Evesham Township Fire District No.1 was Evesham Fire Department, with two fire stations serving Evesham Township: Marlton Fire Company No.1 and Kettle Run Fire Company, and Marlton First Aid Squad serving the emergency medical needs of the Township, and members of the fire stations operating as one under the Fire District.

In 1990, the Fire District absorbed the Marlton First Aid Squad, which integrated emergency medical services into operations. The old Marlton First Aid Squad building remains on Main Street today and is occupied by the Evesham Township School District’s facilities and Maintenance divisions.  For the Fire District, 1992 began years of needed construction to accommodate the increasing size of the District membership and its fire and EMS call volume.  Thus, the Main Street station was constructed and opened in 1998, the Kings Grant station was constructed and opened in 1992, and the Kettle Run station was constructed and opened in 1998.
