Never Forget
Honoring Courage, Remembering Sacrifice
The Evesham Fire-Rescue’s 911 Memorial stands as a poignant tribute to the victims and heroes of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Dedicated on September 27, 2014, this memorial features a significant artifact: a 13-foot-long steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center. This piece, designated Artifact #C-91, serves as a powerful reminder of the events of that tragic day and the resilience of the American spirit.
The memorial honors all 2,973 victims of the attacks, including LeRoy Homer, an Evesham resident and the co-pilot of United Airlines Flight 93. The monument, located in front of the Main Street Firehouse, is not only a place of remembrance but also an educational tool for future generations. The construction of the memorial was made possible through the generous donations of equipment, materials, time, and labor from local professionals, contractors, and the broader community. This sacred site invites visitors to reflect on the sacrifices made and the enduring legacy of those who perished.
